Tenzing Wangpo: “The Jewel Ornament of Liberation” – Refuge, Buddha, Dharma & Sangha

Dit is de eerste reeks lezingen en zal handelen over Toevlucht nemen tot de Boeddha, Dharma & Sangha. Als je je kennis wil verdiepen over het Boeddhisme is dit een onmisbare kans.

Vrijdag: 20u: introductie
Zaterdag: 15u & 20u: “Wat is toevlucht nemen?”
Zondag: 10u & 15u: “De drie juwelen: Boeddha, Dharma & Sangha”
Maandag: 20u: “De drie juwelen: Boeddha, Dharma & Sangha”
Na iedere lezing is er mogelijkheid tot vragen stellen.

Deelname is GRATIS. Een vrijwillige bijdrage voor Tenzing Wangpo is wel een mogelijkheid. Graag uw deelname bevestigen via het contactformulier.

Tenzing Wangpo is een junior khenpo (acharya of boeddhistische professor).

Lectures on Buddhism and Meditation

lezing boeddhisme meditatie tenzing wangpoIn februari we have two lectures planned for you. Tenzin Wangpo will be teaching two days. On februari 17th he will be teaching “Introduction to Buddhism”. On februari 18th a lecture about “Meditation” is planned.

The venue is Het Vredeshuis, Sint-Margrietstraat 9, 9000 Gent and starts at 20h.

Born 1990 into a Buddhist family in India, Tenzing Wangpo was enrolled in a monastery when he was 7 years old. He learned rituals and Dharma texts of traditional Tibetan Buddhism. When he was 12 years old he joined the Diwakar Buddhist Academy in Kalimpong where he studied Indo-Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and literature as well as English and Hindi languages for 8 years. Since he graduated as Acharya, highly learned scholar in Buddhist studies, he has been giving teachings in India and Europe.

The Aspiration prayers of Mahamudra, composed by the third Karmapa Rangjung Dorjé (1284-1339), present the path towards enlightenment in the form of an aspiration. The text, particularly concise and profound, structured in 25 stanzas, describes the basis, the path and the fruit; it explains the view — the theoretical aspect of the teaching –, the means to be applied through meditation and the activity that ensues from it. It is part of the five great aspiration prayers of the kagyü lineage.
